Jessica Umlauf
More on Jessica
She’s continuously applied these skills along with web-thinking to the business world throughout her career. At her first job she was promoted from a trial position to Marketing Director of a mid-sized company for creating a strategy that increased sales 30% in under a year.
Through her MBA program at Lehigh (2006-2008), Jess worked as a marketing strategy consultant for local clients. In 2008 at GE Energy she wore many hats as a Business Development/Organizational Effectiveness Lead. She designed and led development of a cross-functional automation tool which reduced engineering time per job by ~15 hours, reduced warranty costs, and increased spare parts sales by 45%. She wrote/presented business growth plans and R&D budget proposals, and served as a change management lead through an acquisition.

From 2011 to 2017 Jess worked at management consulting firms (Grant Thornton and KPMG), leading growth strategies, change management and training for clients ranging from mid-sized to those such as Disney, Sanofi Aventis, USAA, and Aerojet Rocketdyne. She was recognized for being able to work/empathize with people at all levels/roles of an organization, often resulting in unexpected outcomes. For example, as Training Strategy Lead on an Oracle Implementation, she collaborated with the Testing team to reduce 3 major redundant processes saving ~500-700 hours.

In 2017 Jess began working independently with clients to focus on those in earlier, more exciting stages of growth. Relevant experience: coached an employee navigating career path / leading millennial retention program at a national engineering firm; working with a client in the non-profit sector on a new building project.
